Herbs are the best
By Jon Wim
Herbs are the best remedies for almost anything that ails mankind. I have been an avid herb user for nearly 2 decades now. Whatever the health problem is, there is sure to be a herb that can fix it. Did you know there are tens of thousands of herbs in this world that have health benefits for mankind? Also, many pharmaceutical medicines derive their active ingredients from herbs? The knowledge of herbs as medicines go back thousands of years. Herbs are also the mainstay of ancient Eastern medicinal systems like Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda. According to some surveys done in America, it is found that people increasingly trust herbs to help them rather than rely on their present healthcare system. A herb that I take very often is milk thistle extract. Milk thistle extract contains the active ingredient silymarin that has been shown to benefit the liver. If there is one organ that you need to take care of, it is the liver, with its hundreds of tasks that it does for you, daily. Liver problems lead to a whole host of health problems like insomnia and lack of energy. Due to today's polluted world, humans are subjected to many more toxins and poisons than their forefathers faced, generations ago. As a result, livers are overburdened today, and that is where milk thistle can help. Fortunately, milk thistle is inexpensive to extract and produce into capsules. Herbs also have much less risk of side effects compared to pharmaceutical drugs, and on the whole, it is safer to rely on herbs rather than those drugs. Sadly, the natural habitat for many kinds of herbs are under threat from environmental degradation. Rainforests which are storehouses for many herbs have been largely destroyed. Old ways and customs are being lost due to rapid globalization. Over-exploitation of herbs is also a major threat to herbs. Hopefully, people will realize how valuable herbs are, and find better ways to grow them sustainably. When Big Pharma and the "modern" healthcare system stops putting profits first and instead puts people's health as its top priority, maybe then human health will improve in ways we have not seen before! |
