Foods heal, foods kill
By Jon Wim
Foods can heal and foods can kill but they do both slowly most of the time. It does not mean though, that we can indulge in anything we want even if the effect is gradual. I think it is high time we all took our diet a little more seriously than we are used to. The body does not like to waste, and most of what we eat ends up either stored away, or burned away. So take for example, fatty food high in trans fat. Eating such food every day will eventually end up clogging our arteries, which in turn may lead to a heart attack sooner or later. Likewise, eating a lot of fruits and vegetables raw, provides a lot of phytonutrients which help prevent a whole host of health problems, as well as provide a lot of vitamins and minerals in bioorganic form, which is easily absorbed by the body, and improves health over time. There are many health problems and ailments that can be healed or improved tremendously by simply eating the right foods. Cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, acne, arthritis and lots more can be improved or even healed just by eating enough of the right foods. But since we pile on the fried fast food, coffee, soft drinks, cream cakes and white bread/rice every day, it is no wonder health problems are on the rise and continue to rise. And we wonder why we are not healthy! It’s not just that these foods are deficient in nutrition, but they often contain a whole host of unwanted chemicals and additives courtesy of the “modern” food processing environment of today. All these stuff collect in our cells and tissues, causing problems later on, especially after they accumulate. So if you want to get healthier, the next time you want to tuck in, spare a thought for your poor old body that has to digest, process, and absorb whatever you throw in your mouth. And since your body does not like to waste, you are now reminded where it ends up!

I just recently changed some of my bad eating habits. Still having trouble quitting Diet Cokes
Good sound advise, Jon. It's very hard to break old habits and junk food has been around for over 50 years. The external links are very good and well written. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes. Frederick
