Drugs proved deadly for MJ
By Jom Wim
Although Michael Jackson is gone, I and millions of fans around the world still remember him fondly as perhaps the greatest entertainer the world has ever seen. But if there is one thing that MJ’s passing has brought to light once more, it is his disturbing usage of drugs. Don’t be hasty to judge MJ, he didn’t use drugs to get high; he used drugs because he had problems like getting sleep and injury induced pain. But were they wholly physical or a manifestation of some deeper, inner turmoil which MJ suffered from all his life? It is more than likely the latter for MJ, and the reason why so many of us empathize and feel sorry for him, and we mourn his passing. He must have been a tortured soul for much of his life, and perhaps now, he can be free from the pain he was undergoing. You name it, and it is more than likely, MJ took it. His insomnia was well known among his fans. The number and variety of drugs he took was exceptional to say the least. One of them, Dripivan, which police found in his home, was actually a powerful anesthetic that doctors only used on patients on the operating table. It was meant to knock people unconscious to get operated on, and MJ was taking it to sleep! Little wonder that Michael is gone. Surrounded as he was by “enablers” who try to pass themselves as bona fide doctors and who kept providing him with any drug he asked, MJ’s condition was really bad, and those around him feared he would not be able to carry out his comeback tour. MJ’s life reads like a movie script with an ending that all viewers would have seen coming even by halfway through the show. Rest in peace MJ. You will be missed.
